H.B.D.I. – The Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument
With the H.B.D.I. (Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument) the different ways of thinking and behaving can be presented in a clear, differentiated, and non-judgmental way. The evaluation of a questionnaire results in a graphically represented profile for each person (see example profile), from which it becomes recognizable which ways of thinking and behaving this person prefers and which he avoids. Conceptual or pictorial? Saying, hearing, thinking or rather trying out, doing, moving?
Most people are "multi-dominant" and have several areas in which they feel "at home". But almost all of them also have areas they tend to avoid. In the profile illustration this is the area of the logical, analytical, and rational (A-quadrant). The H.B.D.I. is based on the findings of brain research. The model was developed by Ned Herrmann in the early 1980s. Constant validations ensure that it has a solid scientific basis. It is now used millions of times worldwide. In consulting, we use the instrument for team development, career counseling, communication and sales training, conflict resolution, personnel development, coaching and potential recognition.

EFN – Suitability Test for Sewers
The EFN – Suitability Test for Sewers makes (German: Eignungstest für Näherinnen) it possible to determine the potential of employees, trainees, or new employees in the shortest possible time, regardless of sewing experience. Especially in the emerging industries of developing and newly industrialized countries, this is a strategic advantage. The test battery is available in German, English, French and Spanish. For other languages, the test instructions are available in the local language.
The test battery provides information about the general intelligence and the practical skills and abilities of the seamstresses and thus makes talent-related initial training or targeted training possible.
The test battery consists of an explanation and construction guide part (partly with European reference sources) and an implementation and evaluation part.
The EFN has proven its worth since its creation in 1969 and has been adapted to newer requirements in two further editions. In countless domestic and international companies, the test has been successfully used to select new employees and to check the suitability of existing employees. Especially regarding the establishment of external production facilities, the test is a practicable tool for the selection of personnel for the sewing shop. For example, we tested 1200 employees in Turkey for an international fashion label to select 360 employees for the start of production in the new manufacturing facility after evaluating the results. The performance results were significantly higher than expected after the learning phase.

Clothing technical series
BTI Consulting has taken over the rights of the "Bekleidungstechnische Schriftenreihe" (Clothing Technology Publication Series) from the insolvency estate of the Forschungsgemeinschaft Bekleidungsindustrie e.V. (Research Community Clothing Industry (registered association)). Since 1972, more than 168 volumes have been published in this series with research results on interesting topics related to garment manufacturing. The selection of topics, which generally have a very strong relation to practice, was made by managers of the apparel industry. Even after many years, the series of publications is considered an "insider's tip" by insiders because it has prepared knowledge that is still valid.
Due to a water damage, which destroyed many things in NRW on 15.07.21, large parts of the collection were also destroyed. Few volumes could be saved and are still available.
The BTI advisory service will be happy to provide information about the volumes upon request. Orders are usually shipped within three days.
